Charles M. Fife, III. (“Tres”) was admitted to the practice of law in Louisiana in October of 1994. His experience has been centered primarily around the oil and gas industry and includes work on the acquisition and divestment of upstream properties, drafting title opinions, negotiating master services agreements and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements. His practice also includes tasks ranging from forming legal entities, drafting corporate by-laws, limited liability operating agreements and negotiating various third-party contracts. While he enjoys the challenge of corporate work, he finds the practice of estate planning to be very rewarding. Protecting the interests of our clients and their heirs is a very high calling.
JOURNEY TO K. B. CARLTON
Tres grew up in the Southeast and went to high school in Memphis, Tennessee. He went on to study History at Johns Hopkins University and in the years immediately thereafter attended law school at Louisiana State University. After Tres and his family moved to Dallas in 2006 for what was originally planned to be a period of no more than three months, he fell in love with the area and decided to put down roots here. He earned a Master of Business Administration in 2015 from the executive program at Southern Methodist University and an emphasis in Finance in 2018 and is reputed to be the only executive student to gain that distinction.
LIFE OUTSIDE OF WORK
Tres has always had a passion for business and began buying and selling oil and gas properties shortly after law school. He finds the competition and hard work involved in completing these transactions to be both highly demanding and personally fulfilling. Giving back to the community is very important to Tres, which is why he supports various military organizations in the DFW area. He is a member of the Dallas Rowing Club and, as an avid reader, participates in several book club meetings throughout the month. Tres and his wife now live in Rockwall, Texas where they enjoy camping, hiking, swimming and other outdoor activities.
