Michael A. Weaver has been a Martindale Hubble 5.0 AV Rated corporate transactions and technology attorney for the past 20 years and is currently in private practice at the firm of KB Carlton, PLLC in Southlake, Texas. He has extensive legal experience as an in-house general counsel and an attorney in private practice focusing on corporate transactions, SaaS technology licensing and related IT contracts, regulatory compliance, regulatory requirements, business law, commercial contracts and M&A activities for privately owned companies. Many of his clients are global from Europe, Latin America and Asia. Over the last 20 years, Mr. Weaver has served as in-house general counsel for a variety of clients, including a large regional staffing company and a start-up cyber security technology company. Mr. Weaver has experience drafting and negotiating middle market and large syndicated secured commercial loans on various assets including real estate as well as intellectual property, software, hardware and IT consulting contracts. He is an experienced drafter and negotiator of multi-party complex commercial transactions involving technology and licensing, software, hardware, consulting, telecommunications and commercial real estate. He also has experience negotiating and drafting master services and consulting agreements and all applicable vendor RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, bidder conferences, EEOC investigations, compliance procedures, employer/employee issues, and overall corporate issue/dispute management. Michael gained profit center managerial experience as the Operations Director & Vice President of Chase PULSE where he directed all performance and regulatory compliance aspects of the $15MM annual revenue / 90MM transactions per month IT division, including management of 25 employees and responsibility for the outsourced Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) Services relationship between JP Morgan Chase Bank and the PULSE EFT Association.

In addition to his other legal and business skills, Michael attended Baylor University and graduated with a BBA in Finance/Economics and was a member of the Delta Upsilon Fraternity. He attended South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas, graduated with a J.D., and is admitted to the Texas Bar. Michael also survived taking and passing the Texas Bar Exam while having his first child being born on “Day 2 of 3.” He believes in earning client trust through independent performance, efficiency, quality decision-making and effective strategic planning.

Michael joined KB Carlton PLLC in July 2020 where he focuses on helping families and businesses grow with confidence. Michael is the current director of the 3500-acre Weaver Ranch in Coleman Texas, which was founded in 1892.
